I wonder, and not only on Hiroshima Day, or on next Fridays Berlin Wall Day, what Prussian elite government might have come over us if CvS had succeeded. Maybe, too much left overs from imperial days ...

Yes, I think members of the Stauffenberg conspiracy had discussions about a future government, and the best they could come up with was some sort of Knights of the Roundtable. This year is the 150th anniversary of the German nation, and here is a link to a pretty informative discussion (in English) by historian Adam Tooze: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF4INCn-sew

Interesting, I'll look the video. I didn't realize that it is 150 years. In the German media I am aware of, it's not yet a theme. For me personally, it's 50 years ago in October that I am hooked to Japan :)

Yes, in his talk he mentions that the German media are not playing this up. (Japan is great of course, but so is the whole world!)

I finally saw all of this talk. Much forgotten stuff from history lessons in high school some 50 years ago. Well worth anyway. BTW, here is a page about the 160th anniversary of german/prussian - japanese treaty: https://germanyinjapan160.com/en/?sheet=sheet_2. And here a talk with the same historian Adam Tooze about China: https://supchina.com/2021/08/19/adam-tooze-on-understanding-chinas-rise-in-historical-context/

Thanks for the link.
